| Single Chip Solutions |
|
| The Front End Module is available as a full Multimedia Single Chip Solution . We can provide all the components required for this solution including the GDI - JPEG , GIF , TIFF , MPEG2 , MPEG4 , MOV & AVI , MP3 & AMR encoding , decoding , display and play , character
rendering and graphics display - Operating System and Interchip Communication along with the porting . The development and porting is undertaken over a 4 month period . Payment for the components is on a per chip royalty basis . Payment for the development and porting is on a 50% upfront payment
of the royalty on a full per month basis . |
| |
| World Computers has extensive experience in embedded development including working on Single Chip Solutions and can bring this to bear on the project development in order to ensure that a highly extensive and high quality job is done and that the job is done on time and
on budget . We can provide a full range of high quality Single Chip Solutions at a competitive price . |

| You will also , in addition be required to pay
, as a separate charge , any third party licensing charges - such as for
font libraries , GIF and AMR . These will be factored into the royalty charge
. |
| |
| The above costs also include some ongoing development - the initial payment will be applied to further development - expansion of features , development of operating system components etc. . The income generated will be largely applied to ongoing development producing
further add on modules that can be used for an expanded range of single chip solutions . The first release will be at the 4 month point producing a Module and GDI solution with a host processor interface . The second release will be at the 9 month point producing a fully componentised Front End
Module solution with an operating system and a sophisticated host processor interface . The third release will be at the 14 month point producing a fully componentised Front End Module solution with a Browser module and with ancilliary modules with an operating system and a sophisticated host processor
interface . Further releases will follow as the expansions and new products become available . |
| |
| The minimum purchase is 400,000 units in the
first year . |
| |
| We will provide all the components directly from our site to your clients . We will also provide a free porting service ( at our site ) plus full support for your clients . |
| |
| Hardware requirements :- |
- at least 512KB of Flash PROM - preferably 1MB ( to allow for initial expansion of features + font libraries etc. ) . When the browser is released 4MB will be required .
- at least 64KB of RAM - preferably 128KB . When the browser is released 256KB to 1MB ( depending on chacheing requirements ) will be required .
- processor + I\O support - fast interrupts , autoboot , timer etc. .
- host processor and multimedia device connections .
- chip signature - to license the software .
|
| The chip must be supplied with support circuitary such that the code can be easily downloaded and tested . Initial development can occur on PC's but ultimately the chip platform will be required for the final testing . The PC can be used as the host processor . At least
3 platforms will be required . Compilers and linkers and any support software and hardware for the platform will also be required . |
| |
| Initial development work :- |
- boot loader - chip & host processor sides - transport layer & Flash PROM programmer .
- co-operative operating system - based on existing components - heap manager , interrupt & polling manager , asynchronous call management , event manager , timer and file management - logical & physical .
- GDI - JPEG , MPEG2 , MPEG4 , MP3 & AMR encoding , decoding , display and play , character rendering and graphics display .
- host processor to Front End Module linkage - based on existing linkage .
- a combined script editor and system manager .
|
| This will be released at the 4 month point . |
| |
| The system will be designed such that scripts - such as User Interface scripts and Multi Media scripts - can be executed , via a logical API style interface , from the host processor . As such the scripts will be executed via the External Interface table on the chip . |
