Contracts can be either worked on site or worked remotely .

Contracts are worked via U.K. agencies on a U.K. Company ( us ) to U.K. Company ( agency ) basis on an hourly rate . The rate includes all of our business costs . A copy of the pro forma contract and client's NDA is required before major expenditure is made . The rate must also be established at or prior to this point .

On Site Working

Contracts can be worked on site - where we locate close to the client's site - ie. rent a room in a B&B , Gitte , gastehaus , cheap hotel etc. .

Remote Working

Contracts can be worked remotely - where we locate at home and connect up either using our own equipment or via equipment supplied by the client .

On site visits are undertaken when necessary . This is usually at the start of the project - during the project specification and initial design stage - and at the end of the project - for final integration , testing and adjustments .

Frequent communication - as required by both the project and the client - is maintained during the project development . The project is designed such that it is working from as early a point as possible . During the project development it is taken from the basic working point to the fully working point . As such when the files are emailed to the client they represent a working and demonstrateable version of the project that is being continuously developed and evolved . This ensures that progress can be clearly seen . The project is designed with a high quality well thought out architecture with the full use of components . This minimises maintainence costs . The most advanced techniques are used thus providing the most competitive product .

The Internet connection is maintained during working hours - 7:30 to 19:30 BST Monday to Friday during winter and 7:30 to 19:00 BST Monday to Friday during summer . As such emails can be sent to us with a pick up time our end of 1 to 2 minutes typically . Projects are undertaken at 50+ hours per week . This ensures that project development times can be met ahead of schedules .

Remote working has the following advantages :-

  1. no time involved in commuting - this can be used for working .
  2. increased working hours - due to a balance being made by moving hours from the in between contract period to the contract period .
  3. reduced development time .
  4. increased quality and productivity .
  5. reduced office and equipment costs - the remote worker supplies his \ her office and equipment .

The remote aspect produces a distance as far as communications are concerned . However this problem is easily worked around by the use of a high speed ADSL broadband link our end . Thus linking up to you directly via VPN , email , VoIP etc. . We can supply PC's - Windows XP Professional and Linux - set up purely for work for clients - ie. these can be connected directly to your VPN and your IT support can set them up as required . Work can also be undertaken via use of a Thin Client - we can supply all the equipment - the local network , the support peripherals etc. .

The use of remote workers requires project managers to communicate , either in general terms or in specific terms , the aims of the project to the remote worker . This greatly aids in the project development as it ensures that the project manager divides the project up into modules and corresponding areas of responsibility . This means that project aims can be clearly seen , understood and achieved . Remote workers are highly motivated , highly discipilined and very professional . They can be relied on to produce the goods .
